Maiden Voyage by Tanea Aebi is an incredible true story. This is seriously one of my favorite books ever, and so far all friends and family who have read it agree. |

The Sex Lives of Cannibals by J. Maarten Troost is the FUNNIEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ. I laughed outloud on every page. While there is no sailing involved, it does talk about remote Pacific island living. Can't recommend it enough. |
Rescue in the Pacific by Tony Farrington is a white-knuckle read about a fleet of cruisers caught in an unseasonable Force 10-12 storm. An excellent book on storm tactics and survival. |
Dove by Robin Lee Graham is another inspiring story, one that will make you believe that you too can sail around the world alone. |
By Way of the Wind by Jim Moore is a delightful true story about a couple who circumnavigate - several times over. It's inspiring and fun. |
Kon-Tiki is a novel by Thor Heyerdahl where he tries to prove that the South Pacific islanders came from South America by way of rafts. |
Experiment in Survival by George Sigler is a truly unique story. Sigler decides to design the ultimate life raft, and then test it out - himself! |
Adrift by Steven Callahan is not for the faint of heart - 76 days lost at sea - alone. |
